Hibs women add 'exceptional talent' with first summer signing
Hibs Women’s boss Grant Scott believes he’s added “exceptional talent” to his squad after landing Australian defender Stacey Papadopoulos on a two-year deal. The 27-year-old is Scott’s first signing of the summer, subject to international clearance and a work permit, after agreeing terms on a pre-contract.
The Western United defender was part of the side who finished runner-up in the Women’s A-League in season 2022-23. At previous club Calder United, Papadopoulos won a cup double.

Her defensive skill and leadership on the field will be invaluable assets as we aim to achieve our goals in the coming seasons. We believe Stacey's addition will bolster our defensive options. We look forward to welcoming her to Edinburgh and seeing her thrive in green and white over the next two seasons.”
Papadopoulos sounded an ambitious note when talking about her move, saying: “I want to give my best for the team and make sure that we’re able to compete in every game, finish higher in the table and compete with the bigger sides.”
Hibs finished fifth in the SWPL last season. They also reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals of the SWPL Cup.
