The former Liverpool youngster has moved to Hearts this transfer window.

Ryan Fulton didn’t need much convincing to lure him to Hearts, as he is unveiled as their second summer signing.

Following on from the unveiling of left-back James Penrice earlier this week, the former Liverpool youngster confirmed a move to Gorgie on a two-year deal. The goalkeeper will provide competition for Zander Clark and Craig Gordon while allowing some promising youngsters the chance to go out on loan.

Fulton has spent the last seven years with Hamilton Accies, playing across the Premiership, Championship and League One. He feels now is the right time for a new challenge and believes Hearts is a perfect fit. He told Hearts TV: “I’m really happy to be here and looking forward to the challenges ahead. I can’t wait to meet the boys and get started.

“After seven years, I’d done my fair share at the club and was ready for a new challenge. This came along and I couldn’t turn down the chance to join a club like Hearts so I’m excited and looking forward to a new challenge.

“One of the biggest attractions coming to Hearts was getting the chance to learn off the two of them. Craig’s been playing for years and still performing at the highest level and Zander’s been flying too. I’ve met Gal (Paul Gallacher, goalkeeper coach) a few times as well and know all about him so I’m looking forward to it.

“It didn’t take much convincing to get me here. I spoke to Steven and Frankie (McAvoy) and they made it a really smooth process. This season’s going to be brilliant, you see the fans here and the place is always rocking. The European nights are going to be special.”

Fulton also provided an insight on the type of keeper Hearts have acquired. He said: “First and foremost you want to save shots! I try to do my bread and butter. I have an attribute with my left foot where I can launch a ball, trying to be as commanding as I can be.”

He is the second of four stars who have signed pre-contracts to be unveiled. Yan Dhanda and Blair Spittal have also signed deals that will see them become Hearts players for next season.
