As we approach Gilded Balloon’s 39th year at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, we’re looking ahead to the end of 2024 and 2025 already, preparing to travel the country with our upcoming Big Fab Comedy Show this autumn.

As Scotland’s biggest live comedy tour, the shows plays host to top TV comics as well as some of the hottest rising comedic talent from across Scotland and the UK, stopping off in Edinburgh’s Queens Hall this September and November.

We have fan favourites Darren Harriott, Andrew Maxwell and Helen Bauer on the line-up and Scottish comics like Some Laugh podcaster Stuart McPherson, Glaswegian Kathleen Hughes and Edinburgh local Joe McTernan taking to stages around Scotland.

We also have some fantastic hosts on board – Scot Squad and Other Murray Brother star Chris Forbes will host the September shows whilst award winning Glasgow comic Ray Bradshaw MCs our November dates.

The Big Fab Comedy Show is a chance to laugh along with big names and rising stars and maybe find your new favourite comedian – it really is a great night out!

Plus our tour locations include some of the country’s most historic theatres.

The tour will see performances at the Grade A listed Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen and a handful of picturesque venues such as the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness, set on the banks of the River Ness.

We’re aiming to bring comedy to cities and towns further afield in Scotland as well as the Central Belt, to places like Largs and Ayr so locals can get their comedy fix without always having to travel to the bigger cities.

These tours have taken a lot of organising with reaching out to many different theatres throughout Scotland.

Katy, my daughter, her Norwegian husband, Fredrik and my granddaughter Penny and I have all managed to take a break together in Norway before we fully dive into the next few months of planning for August and future shows.

Also all that comes along with the Fringe being just round the corner, we have to keep on top of things.

The joys of remote working mean we’ve been able to stay in touch with our team and all our work whilst enjoying some sunshine and much needed family time!
