Andrew Oldcorn using Broady as Senior Open yardstick
Oldcorn said he wasn’t surprised to see former European No 1 Ronan Rafferty setting the pace on the East Lothian coast after a dazzling nine-under-par 63.
But, at the same time, the Edinburgh man admitted he’d be keeping one eye on Paul Broadhurst, the defending champion and Senior Open title holder, as the title battle unravels over the next two days.

Rafferty, who topped the European Tour money-list in 1989, signed for two eagles and six birdies on the Fidra Links.
