West Lothian road closed after serious crash

A BUSY main road in West Lothian was closed after a serious accident early this morning.

The A706 through Whitburn was shut in both directions between the Bogside roundabout and the M8 from around 5am.

Local diversions were in place, but the closure added to delays caused existing roadworks on the M8 at Junction 4 Whitburn.

Police thanked motorists for their patience.
