Easyjet Edinburgh-Hamburg flight diverted to London Luton over 'suspected technical issue'

A plane from Edinburgh to Hamburg was diverted today due to a "suspected technical issue."

The flight landed instead at London Luton Airport and passengers were taken to Germany on another aircraft.

An easyJet spokesperson said: “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY6931 from Edinburgh to Hamburg diverted to Luton due to a suspected technical issue.

"The captain performed a routine landing in accordance with standard operating procedures and the flight was met by emergency services on arrival in Luton as a precaution only.

"Passengers disembarked normally in Luton and a replacement aircraft was arranged for passengers to continue their journey to Hamburg.

“The safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew is easyJet's highest priority.”
