Man in his 90s left with serious injury after being hit by cyclist on Morningside Road

A man in his 90s was taken to hospital with a serious injury after being struck by a cyclist on a busy Edinburgh road.

Paramedics were called to the collision on Morningside Road shortly before 4:40pm on Monday.

It is understood the elderly man suffered a hip fracture and he is being treated in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 4:40pm on Monday, March 9th to attend an incident on Morningside Road.

“One ambulance attended and a male patient in their 90s was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”

Police said they were not called to the collision yesterday.
