Events to encourage people to recognise signs of suicide
West Lothian Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) and Choose Life are encouraging people to recognise the signs that someone may be suicidal.
The events come after statistics revealed that last year, the number of suicides spiralled by 68 per cent in West Lothian compared to 2010 figures.

Hide AdCouncillor Frank Toner, chair of West Lothian CHCP, said: “Raising awareness of this important issue is a key priority of the CHCP. Every suicide is a tragic loss of life, leaving a lasting impact on families, friends, partners, carers and communities, but we all have a role to play in suicide prevention.”
Suicide Prevention Week takes place from September 2, while World Suicide Prevention day is on September 10.
