The Scottish SPCA has issued an appeal after the grey female cat was found by a dog walker in a black fabric cat carrier, between two rows of houses in Ferniehill Way, at around 4:40pm on Monday October 19. The animal was taken to one of the animal welfare charity’s rehoming centres where it is receiving the care it needs.
It comes after two kittens were found just half a mile away in similar circumstances in Moredun Park Road on October 8.

Hide AdScottish SPCA inspector, John Toule, said the cat was found next to a carrier bag containing both wet and dry cat food and that some of it was scattered over the ground.
He said the cat carrier was open when discovered and there was another cat nearby, but it’s unclear if it had come from the carrier or was attracted by the food.
He said: “Although we can’t say for certain whether this incident is linked to the two kittens found on 8 October, there are definite similarities in the circumstances in which the cats were found.
“Although we appreciate that the owner obviously intended for their animal to be found and did leave food for her, this is not the correct procedure to follow if you wish to give up a pet for rehoming.
“We are keen to trace the owner of this animal.”
