As the weather heated up and people spent more time outside, owners of The Little Chartoom, Roberta Hall-McCarron and Shaun McCarron, launched The Little Chartroom on the Prom in August 2020 to feed hungry revellers as they enjoyed the sun at the seaside.
The husband and wife team have now secured a two-year lease for the popular eatery.

New menu items will include seasonal winter warming dishes like smoked venison sausage with mole sauce, celeriac ragout and crispy kale, and hot chocolate mousse with mascarpone, toffee apple and hazelnut.
Roberta said: “We’ve had the unit in Portobello for four months now and it has been a huge success. Portobello is always busy regardless of the weather, so it made sense for us to extend the lease.
“Not only have we garnered a loyal customer base on the promenade but also having this outdoor space has provided some stability during this difficult time.”

The Little Chartroom on the Prom is open Wednesday until Sunday every week from 11am until 4pm, but festive opening hours will differ.
While the restaurant remains closed, The Little Chartroom at Home experience is still available for delivery on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and can be ordered through the online shop.
Last year, Roberta took a top prize at the national Food and Travel Awards, taking the title of Breakthrough Chef, GQ named The Little Chartroom as one of the best places in Edinburgh to eat, and the restaurant won the title of Best Newcomer at last year's Edinburgh Restaurant Awards.
