A RUSSIAN court was today expected to deliver a verdict on oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky in a case that has also put the spotlight on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Khodorkovsky’s trial on charges of fraud and tax evasion, as well as the state-sponsored dismantlement of his Yukos oil company, has been widely seen as Kremlin revenge for the support he once gave opposition parties. Prosecutors want Khodorkovsky, 41, to receive a ten-year sentence.
