THE gap between the sexes when it comes to money is narrowing rapidly, a report has shown.
The number of female millionaires in Britain has been rising on the back of social trends - such as inheritance and the climbing divorce rate - according to independent market analyst Datamonitor.

While a male millionaire's wealth has increased by an average 9.2 per cent over the past eight years, the worth of a female millionaire has ballooned by 53.9 per cent.

As apposed to earned. Women become wealthy by default following either death or divorce.

#2 - number 1 is essentially right.

The inference from the article is that there is a rising number of wealthy women because of higher divorce and inheritance values, not because of earned wealth or business success.

And judging by comment at 2, I can see why men earn more than women...coz we don't jump to conclusions!
