MISS West Lothian Ashley Brown is on the road to becoming Britain's Next Top Model after making it through to the final 20 contestants on the popular TV show.
The mother-of-two from Eliburn in Livingston said making the show's Boot Camp was the "best experience of her life" and she really wanted to win to carve out a career in modelling.

"I've really enjoyed myself so far, although I found the cameras a bit difficult," said the 20-year-old.

"It was very competitive and there were a lot of arguments between the girls, but they were sorted out very quick. I got into a couple myself but we've all kept in touch.

"I thought my whole life was going to be on TV like a reality show, but it turned out to be amazing.

"I've really gained confidence from it because I didn't really have any before.

"Lisa Snowdon (the show's presenter] said I was the biggest character there and had everyone in stitches so I must have made a good impression."

Ashley has a daughter Alysha, three, and an eight-month-old son Jay.

The show will start on the Living TV channel on April 20 and will last for 12 weeks.

#5 That's a bit harsh ! Do you know her personally ?

Her comments in the article portray her as sociable and polite in my opinion. Good luck to her !

#9 Why oh why do Edinburgh people (and I am an Edinburgh person - I just happen to live in West Lothian), why oh why do these people think they can make snap judgements about the folk who live in West Lothian? Have you ever been there? Probably not, as if you had, you would know that there are many good, decent people who live there. There are bad areas in Edinburgh - I don't need to tell you where they are because unless you have your head in a paper bag you will know!

Do these other lassies know what they're doing if they get into an argument with a 20 year old mother of two from Eliburn?

#10 I completely agree with you.

I, like yourself, was brought up in Edinburgh - ex-Edinburgers make up a huge number of the West Lothian population. So the people who are criticising us - sit back and ask what you're saying about yourself.

No21

The vast majority of people in Livingston and the East side of West Lothian are ex Edinburgers. They just moved up market from their poxy tennements to a better life in the country. All the negative comments are from those frustrated with the whole tram shambles. They do have a lovely Castle to look at and a smashing festival for the worlds weirdos. And finally, there is no way this girl could be from Edinburgh.........she's far to attractive.

she's not ugly but there must be someone better looking than that in West Lothian

#22 Yes I moved to Livingston for a better standard of living - I couldn't afford the high prices in Edinburgh. I have a nice house with a garden back and front for about 75% of what it would cost me in Edinburgh, but I still love Edinburgh and travel there every day to work. I tried working locally but got withdrawal symptoms! Seriously, though, West Lothian has its attractions as does Edinburgh and its good to be able to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Seen her around shopping centre and local area in eliburn, she does not always look good, bit scruffy at times.
Amazes me though how she always seems to manage to go to club death every weekend, looks not to bad with a bit of slap on her face, but she loves herself to much and tends to look down on other people,
