THE humble spud may have had its chips after it was today revealed that young people do not know how to cook potatoes.
The Potato Council found that almost 40 per cent of those aged under 30 did not know how to cook simple dishes such as roast potatoes or a jacket potato.

Many of the youngsters were unable to cook shepherd's pie.

There's many a youngster who doesn't know that crisps and chips are potato products or that milk comes from cows!
Re the "Shepherds Pie" (that's sheep, NOT cows), can't they bung it in a microwave?!?

Wife works at local Tescos. She was gobsmacked when a 14 yr old walking in and asked where the hard boiled eggs were kept. She wanted one for school cookery class the next day. I kid you not.
