Freedom up for debate

LOTHIAN'S assistant chief constable Bill Skelly and News columnist Helen Martin will take part in a Question Time-style event at the National Library of Scotland.
The "Freedom v Safety" debate on Wednesday will feature such hot topics as ID cards and CCTV. The panel will also include sociology and criminology lecturer Stuart Waiton and Amnesty's John Watson. The event in the George IV Bridge building starts at 7pm. Call 0131-623 4675.
