THE Government was today urged to introduce "tangible new work" for post offices after a report said thousands of branches were struggling to survive.
The National Federation of Subpostmasters said some members were having to rely on their savings. A study of 750 subpostmasters found two-thirds had seen their income fall or remain the same in the past year.
