A SCOTTISH tourist has drowned after falling from the deck of a boat hotel in Amsterdam.
Police have not released the name of the 27-year-old victim whose body was found in the river by divers.

He is known to be from Scotland but further details have not been announced.

Police officers in the city said he was sitting and drinking at around 11pm on Saturday when he fell into the Ij river behind the city's central train station "for unknown reasons".

A passer-by and two policemen tried to rescue him but were unable to find him in the dark water. Divers from the fire department eventually located him but resuscitation attempts failed.
