College award for inspector

SCOTLAND'S Chief Inspector of Prisons the Rev Dr Andrew McLellan has been honoured by his old college for his work.
Dr McLellan, an ex-Moderator of the Church of Scotland's General Assembly and former minister of St Andrew's and St George's Church in Edinburgh's George Street, has been given a Distinguished Alumni Award from Union Theological Seminary in New York, where he graduated nearly 40 years ago.

The citation for the award said: "McLellan's fight for better prison conditions has been a crucial part of his life since taking up his first ministry in 1969."
