'You're a radge' . . what a sheriff told rampaging teenager

A DRUNKEN teenager who caused mayhem in an Edinburgh street in the early hours of the morning has been branded "a complete radge" by a sheriff.

Peter MacDonald, 19, took out his anger on passing traffic in Gorgie Road after arguing with his girlfriend.

He grabbed road signs and street cones, smashed the windscreen of a car and head-butted a bus, before shattering the window of the Stratford pub with his elbow.

In Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, Sheriff Gordon Liddle said: "He could be described as a complete radge, if one were to use Edinburgh terminology." MacDonald pleaded guilty to reckless damage and breach of the peace.

Witnesses saw MacDonald and his girlfriend standing in the road screaming at each other in the early hours of May 13.

Fiscal depute Kate Mulligan said: "He ran into the middle of the street and threw a traffic cone at a car window and jumped on the bonnet. He was kicking the windscreen and jumped on the roof before jumping on the windscreen."

MacDonald continued on his rampage and ran in front of a Lothian bus. Miss Mulligan added: "He placed his hands on the window and headbutted the windscreen."

MacDonald will be sentenced on November 6.
