THE East of Scotland League Select team has its first competitive fixture of the season tonight when Raith Rovers are the visitors to Riccarton Campus at Heriot-Watt University, kick-off 7.30pm.
The Select team plays three or four games each season culminating in the annual match against the Highland League at the end of the season. The SFA then picks a squad to participate in the Four Nations Semi Professional Tournament which includes team
s from England, Wales and Gibraltar.

There is therefore a huge incentive for the players against the Kirkcaldy side tonight.

"Raith were very happy to provide us with opposition," said the East Select manager, Willie Darroch. "I know their manager John McGlynn and he has confirmed that his team will consist of a mixture of first team players, reserves and under-19s.

"This is really the beginning of the build up to playing the Highland League at the end of the season.

Tonight the players have an opportunity to show what they can do."

Full squad: Chris Flockhart (Spartans), John Gilbertson (Tynecastle), Scott Fusco (Edinburgh University), Kevin Morrison, Michael Bruce (both Edinburgh City), Ross Johnston, Kevin Lee (both Whitehill Welfare), Robbie Arthur (Tynecastle), Omar Kader (Spartans), Mark Ellis (Whitehill Welfare), Sean McAuley (Preston Athletic), Lewis Sloan (Dalbeattie Star), Steven McCormack (Tynecastle), Bryan Wilson (Preston Athletic), Nicky Walker (Spartans), Steven Clee, Robbie Ross (both Edinburgh City).
