THE Edinburgh-based international architectural company behind the Scottish Parliament building is looking to establish a permanent base in Mumbai as part of its global expansion.
RMJM, which took over responsibility for the parliament building at Holyrood following the death of its original architect Enric Miralles, has already achieved £1 billion of construction programmes in India.
It is now looking to open a permanent office in Mumbai to continue the growth.
The company, the seventh-largest architectural firm in the world, already has offices in the UK, the United States, the Middle East and the Far East, employing 1200 people.
Among its team of respected architects is Tony Kettle, who is known for his work on the award-winning Falkirk Wheel.
The company is involved with 38 projects in India.
Declan Thompson, RMJM's finance director, said: "RMJM is perfectly positioned to benefit from this growth market by establishing a more permanent presence on the back of the £1bn of construction projects we are delivering there."
