Rachel Gregson27, is a barmaid at Cabaret Voltaire and recent winner of Bar Personality of the Year
1 What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? I moved to Edinburgh when I was 17 and most of my earliest memories are of student parties, Wilkie House and working away in Fat Sams.

2 What are your memories of school?
Getting bullied and learning it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you.

3 Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? I love the Old Town, just wandering around, picturing what it would have been like hundreds of years ago, and Arthur's Seat of course.

4 What are the best things about Edinburgh? Apart from all the architecture, art galleries, green spaces and amazing restaurants, I think my favourite thing about the city is all the crazy people that end up here. Most people I meet come to stay for a couple of months and end up staying for years.

5 What would you change about the city? I would stop them tearing down all the old beautiful buildings just so they can put up cloned office blocks – we are about to lose our World Heritage status because of all these monstrosities popping up. Oh, and the trams.

6 Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. To start, a brisk yomp up Arthur's Seat. Follow that by a meal at my favourite restaurant, Wedgewood. Montiefs next for cocktails then either rock out at Whistle Binkies or on to Cab for more cocktails in the Speakeasy.

7 Which sports interest you? I love football and try to get to as many games as possible. Anything Scotland is competing in usually gets my attention and darts, I get obsessed every January for the world championships, sometimes even taking time off work.

8 What was your most embarrassing moment? Shamefully, there are too many to pick from but most spectacular was break-dancing watching Grand Master Flash (my hero) and messing up my best move and ending up in a pile of tangled, broken limbs in front of nearly a thousand people and the first one I saw when I looked up was the God himself laughing uncontrollably.

9 What is your greatest achievement? Making it this far alive and well.

10 Sum up Edinburgh in three words. Manic, beautiful, unexpected

Actually no - Edinburgh isn't about to lose its World Heritage Site status - yet. Long way to go before that happens, although if the council continues with allowing awful plans like Caltongate and the Haymarket Tower and the new St James' Centre, it's sure as hell putting it in danger of being on UNESCO's In Danger list.
