YET another clean sheet, the fifth in their last six games, took Falkirk to within three points of their first ever top six finish in the SPL, writes ALAN FAIRLEY.
And manager John Hughes took time after the game to heap praise on his defenders for their contribution to the club's ongoing development.

"Five clean sheets in the last six games speaks for itself," said Yogi. "Our defence has been superb recentl
y and they were outstanding again today. This is a difficult venue to come to, it can be a very intimidating arena but the players stood up well.

"The result keeps us in front of Hearts and means we need only one win from our next two games to ensure we finish in the top six and that would be great for the prestige of the club.

"I don't like naming names but I have to single out Darren Barr for his display today.

"He was resolute, determined and gave a real captain's performance."

Although the draw was a particularly satisfying result for Hughes, he still felt that his team could have taken all three points from what was, despite the importance of the outcome, a disappointingly low key affair.

"It was important that we took something from the game," he said. "And while we competed well, the quality wasn't that great and I've certainly seen us play better.

"We had a couple of chances to win the game but I felt we could have passed the ball better and shown a bit more composure.

"Once again though, the players did what I asked of them and gave me everything.

"We played some really nice football early in the season and, while we've lost a bit of that lately, our early season form has helped us get to the position in which we now find ourselves."

Falkirk's two remaining fixtures prior to the SPL split are against Kilmarnock at home next Saturday followed by a trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen the following week.
