AN Irish Open marshal was just moments from suffering the wrath of Colin Montgomerie on the first day of the event at Adare. Monty was bending over to retrieve his ball out of a hole at the final green for an eventual 75 when the marshal's mobile phone rang, according to the sports pages today.
