CSABA LASZLO stressed today that Hearts will never be a one-man team under his tutelage and that the loss of Michael Stewart will not hinder the side against Hamilton this evening.
The manager has able-bodied replacements ready and waiting to deputise for the suspended Stewart, who incurred a three-match ban for his red card at St Mirren on Saturday. In addition to tonight's match, the midfielder will miss SPL fixtures against Falkirk and Rangers later this month.

Laszlo insisted Hearts can thrive without Stewart's influence. He used Ruben Palazuelos and Robbie Neilson in midfield at Love Street and welcomes Marius Zaliukas and Christos Karipidis back into tonight's squad.

"David Obua is back, Neilson is also back, so we have new options," said the Hungarian. "I think in every team, if you get a red card or an injury, you must mix a new puzzle.

"We played against St Mirren in the second half without Michael and we won with ten men. This is positive and we must keep this spirit. Michael Stewart is a good player but we have other young players who play good football. We don't think only about one person, we have a team and this is my philosophy.

"Individuals can decide games but a lot of times, in our situation, we can always beat quality teams if we are compact and we have the will to win."

As revealed in yesterday's Evening News, Hearts expect to be without Saulius Mikoliunas for around two months due to knee ligament damage. Deividas Cesnauskis and Audrius Ksanavicius are also unavailable due to injury.

"All the Lithuanian players are injured, only Zaliukas is okay," continued Laszlo. "Miko's knee is full with water and he will not play for some time. Cesny has a problem with his muscle and the doctor will analyse him. We must look at the problem with his muscle because this is not good. Ksanavicius has an Achilles problem which began last year."

Laszlo admitted to a delay in the treatment of Polish midfielder Adrian Mrowiec, who requires a knee operation. The player arrived on loan from FBK Kaunas in August suffering from fluid from his knee and has made just two appearances for Hearts so far.

"I think he will have the operation this week," said Laszlo.

"All the Lithuanian players are injured, only Zaliukas is okay," continued Laszlo.

That sentence started so promisingly but my hopes were dashed at the end.

"Laszlo admitted to a delay in the treatment of Polish midfielder Adrian Mrowiec, who requires a knee operation. The player arrived on loan from FBK Kaunas in August suffering from fluid from his knee"

Yeah, great signing policy - have another player on loan form Kaunas for a position we didn't need cover for who is injured and requires an operation. Par for the course really.
4

Propaganda boy,

12/11/2008 12:16:02
When the Scottish players are injured and the Lithuanian players are in its all because of Vlad and the mystery fax machine, so where are the conspiracy theorists today?

Hearts maybe going to sign Dave Hibbert in the January transfer window.

#1 We should be good enough even without the unavailable players but need the full commitment of those who do play. Another win to consolidate ourselves in 4th would be good - in fact could even go 3rd if Hibs do us favour (unlikely, but you never know)

Stotty,

The fact that Ukio Bankas have posted accounts showing a 36% increase in profits clearly isn't deemed newsworthy by those at the EEN. If it was a 36% decrease, you can bet your bottom dollar it'd be on the back page (if not the front page).
10

Stray Fox,

#9 It's been posted in the weekly pie.
11

Johnny Jambo,

#9 Stotty - makes no odds that UB Made a profit, they are just the same as Hearts, a part of the Group and a separate company within that group, if the group have problems then it will concern us.

But you are right, if they had made a loss it would have been seen as newsworthy alright.

He can leave Zally out, bring Karipidis into defence. Play Jonnson in the holding role with Robbie playing right mid in front of Thomson. So it would be
Balogh,Thomson,Berra,Kari,Wallace, Neilson,Jonnson,Palazeulos,Driver,Bruno and Nade.

Zally is not focused enough and should be left out for a few more games.
25

busbyfh,

12/11/2008 13:12:10

# 9 - Thanks for posting that - your point is most valid.
For those that think that it has no bearing on Hearts......Scenario - Ukios Bankas is about to go bust - what does Vlad cut/offload to aid his number one priority the bank ?

That is why # 9 posted what he did.Of course along with the point that bad news linked with Vlad's "empire" is pounced upon and directed at Jambos while anything positive is 99% buried by the hacks.
Those to55ers have never forgotten being treated like chimps - deservedly so.

markatview,

Was it just a coincidence that Zali doesnae play and we keep a clean sheet, i think not' Can almost guarantee there will be no clean sheet tonight if that boy is playing, where byetheway he will, going to be a a few nervy moments tonight thats for sure with the score likely to be 1-1 or 2-1 , the latter i hope for hearts, would like tae see Zali back in the reserves for a half dozen games tae build his confidence back up .
27

Stray Fox,

12/11/2008 13:56:14
#26 Zali is rubbish...just like 99% of the Hearts squad.

Gorgie Forever,

Have to say that I'm not in the slightest bit worried that Stewart isn't playing tonight. I haven't seen every game this season but those that I have had the misfortune of watching usually involve Mikey playing raking 50 yrd passes into the stand! Yes he has passion but still plays behaves like a petulant child and rarely considers how his actions affect the team. Much rather have ruben in his place, a much better range of passes and a level head.

If Zal plays tonight then I fear there is little hope for the selection policy for the remainder of the season. Never has there been a bigger imposter of a footballer at tynie (with the possible exception of audrey!)

34

12/11/2008 14:15:19
#29 have to agree with you there , think he's another one who would benefit with 5or6 games in the reserves.
stewart that is..
audrey should be shown the door and directed to the nearest job centre am sure they could find some level of employment like a chimney sweeps boy or something like that!!
35

36

Unhappy Jambo,

12/11/2008 15:41:23
I know from reading these boards regularly how disappointed everyone is that we play with 1 up front - home or away no matter the opposition. It is very disappointing having seen previous managers play attractive football with two sometimes three up front. However on looking at the stats, to be specific the league table, outside of the OF it seems all teams are struggling to score - the best return is DUtd with 17 goals in 12 games, Motherwell, even the free scoring attacking Hibees have scored on 13 in the league.
Poor all round in my opinion.
37

12/11/2008 15:45:18

Had forgotten about those two! At least with butcher barassa there was some comedy value in watching him hunt players down and punt them ten feet in the air!

Mo Bertha, Gordan Petric, Hans Eskillson are a few others as well mind you.

My issue with audrey stems from him having no pace, no height, no ability to hold the ball up, no effort...well I could go on all day!

#48 Erm? Its very easy to be negative about Romanov. Its also very easy to be positive about him. You are to quick to forget all the positive things he has done for the club. Dont ask me to name them. You as a SUPPORTER should know.

"We're talking here about Romanov's mismanagement, his sabotage of the team's potential success, his failure to appoint a "real" manager between October 2005 and July/August 2008, and his failure to invest in quality players."

I could counter every thing you say there but I would be wasting my time. Go support someone else.

#52 Cant be 4rsed mate. Defended Romanov so often and said the same things so many times that it makes no difference. He has his critics and his supporters. I just wish that people would forget what they hear in the press and from opposition supporters and base their opinions on what is fact. No doubt "fact" could also be debated all night as well but I would rather listen to the game.

Thats a pitty. Nothing good has come from Lithuania. Thake those players and mad vlad and gety ....
3rd world country and 3rd world 2nd rate players.

If we have a few games without the Lithuanian dros then good.
