KILMARNOCK manager Jim Jefferies has revealed he has completed a deal to sign Gretna midfielder Abdul Osman subject to a medical.
The 21-year-old has agreed terms on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year, with the Rugby Park outfit.

Osman had looked set to return to England, with Coca-Cola League One outfit Northampton favourites to sign him, following Gretna's re
legation from the SPL. But Jefferies made a move for him and persuaded him to move to Killie.

Having already signed Airdrie striker Allan Russell, Jefferies is delighted to have secured Osman as he pushed ahead with his plans for next season.

"I've agreed terms with Abdul Osman from Gretna and it's just subject to medical," Jefferies said. "We've agreed a two-year deal with a third year as an option and he will have the medical tomorrow. He has two offers in England and looked set to join a club down there but I stepped in to get him. He is only 21 years old and he's one that we feel will challenge for the first team and has a lot to come. We nipped in before he was due to go down and sign for Northampton."

Jefferies admitted he had closely monitored the progress of Osman who he believes will possess several key attributes which will ensure he will be a hit at the club.

"We've kept an eye on him for a while," he added.

"He's a big, powerful lad that can play in the middle of the park. He's got good feet, is a good passer of the ball and has a presence about him."
