ANTHONY STOKES' fine form for Hibs has seen him rewarded with a recall to the Republic of Ireland squad to play France in the World Cup play-offs.
The 21-year-old capped a fine performance at Ibrox last week with a superb equaliser in Hibs' 1-1 draw with Rangers, and Giovanni Trapattoni has called the three-times capped striker into his squad for the showdown with the French.

The Irish play France on Saturday, 14 November, at Croke Park, with the return in Paris the following Wednesday.

Stokes is joined in the squad by clubmate Liam Miller and Celtic's Aiden McGeady.

Well done Stokes, keep banging them in for Hibs, and international caps WILL follow. Liam Miler is class and will continue to improve for us. GGTTH.

Two players who must already be grateful they chose Hibs to spark some life into faltering careers. Less than 3 months at Easter Road and they're back in their national squad. They will repay us with quality football and large transfer fees when the time comes to move on
