East tennis teams net double success

EAST OF SCOTLAND men's and women's tennis teams have struck double tops with promotions in the Winter County Cup to add to summer successes in outdoor competitions.
At Scotstoun, the East women defeated Hereford and Worcestershire, Channel Islands and West to go up from Division 5B while the men also leave Division 5B with wins over Suffolk, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire at Welwyn Garden City.

The men's team, promoted to Division Two of the inter-county championships in the summer, comprised Ross Murdoch, Alan MacDonald, Jamie Hunter, James McKie, Euan Bell, Mark Gilmour and Taylor Flanagan while the women's team, who reached division five outdoors, featured Mhairi Brown, Sarah McFadyen, Aisha Kerr, Liana Park, Katerina Palenikova, Leigh Kasparek and Sonia Vickers.
