CELTIC'S Champions League dreams were sunk last night with the help of two offside goals from Dimitar Berbatov.
Wayne Rooney sealed their fate with a third goal for Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Group E match.

Gordon Strachan commented: "We've just been beaten by the best team we've ever played against. It is going to take some team to stop them
winning this tournament again. We got two bad decisions against us but I am not going to scream about that. I am big enough to know when I have been beaten, well beaten."

Laszlo: Players will come and go
It's getting a little crowded at Hearts, according to manager Laszlo Csaba.

The Hungarian is reportedly looking to sign two or three new players during January's transfer window, but he added: "In my opinion, definitely players will leave. We've too many players."

Csaba is due to meet with club owner Vladimir Romanov and sport director Anatoly Korobochka to discuss potential new signings.

Di Resta's F1 hopes boosted by McLaren testing
The F1 dreams of Bathgate's Paul Di Resta have been boosted by two successful days of testing with McLaren at Silverstone, it is reported.

The 22-year-old said: "The test went really well. I did all that McLaren asked me to do - and that's all I can do."

Di Resta must now turn his attention to Sunday's DTM final round at Hockenheim, where he is two points behind Audi's Timo Scheider.

Hearts to give Rangers fans just 2000 away briefs
Hearts are to offer just 2,000 tickets to Rangers' fans for next month's SPL clash at Tynecastle.

The club said it might consider releasing a further 1,500 briefs if the home support didn't fill the rest of the Roseburn Stand.

A spokesperson said: "Should Hearts sell out its 'home allocation' in all other stands by Monday, November 17, then these sections will be allocated to Hearts supporters. If this allocation is not sold out by then, Hearts will consider releasing additional tickets to Rangers supporters."

Fletcher tips Riordan to haunt old side Derek Riordan could return to Parkhead on Saturday to get his revenge on Gordon Strachan - who would not give him a regular start during his spell with the club.

Hibs and Scotland striker Steven Fletcher tipped Riordan for a return to the field despite a calf injury he picked up at Sunday's Edinburgh derby.

Fletcher said: "It's a big game but hopefully Derek will score and show them what they're missing. He's a great talent and even though he is still short of match fitness, he's doing extra work to get back to his peak," it is reported.
