Mass marketing scams hit half of British population

MORE than half of Britons over the age of 15 have been targeted by mass marketing scams, the Office of Fair Trading revealed today.
The scams, which now rake in £1billion a year, are increasingly using new technology to con people out of money, according to the watchdog.

Methods include low-cost mass-marketing techniques such as e-mail, text messages and the internet.
