SCOTTISH Rugby Union bosses today rejected a possible security lapse after a shock claim that a group of tourists were given insight into Scottish tactics for Saturday's 15-22 loss to Ireland.
According to today's Irish Times, the visitors were shown round Murrayfield 24 hours before kick-off under the auspices of Visit Scotland. When they reached the home dressing room, many were surprised to find notices on the walls giving details of the Scotland line-out codes.
It is also claimed that: "written up on an A4 sheet of paper was the message: Target O Gara."
A spokesman for Scottish Rugby said today: "A group of rugby league journalists did visit the dressing room but there is no chance line-out codes were on show."
During the match, a radio commentary highlighted the fact that the visitors seemed to have no difficulty reading the codes signals. And Scotland coach Frank Hadden admitted: "There were a lot of errors in our line-outs.
"From five line-outs in the second half we lost three."
One casualty appears to have been Edinburgh hooker and thrower Ross Ford who was substituted, though he may have been a scapegoat.
