A FORMER Australian inter-state junior cricket record holder has been signed as overseas professional for Scottish Saltires.
Ed Cowan, 25, once hit an unprecedented 218 not out for New South Wales on his way into the current full state side for whom he has hit two centuries this year.

"We set out to get a top-three batsman and Ed fits the bill perfectly," said Cricket Scotland boss Roddy Smith of a player who will also be expected to bowl leg breaks for new club, Uddingston.

• AUSTRALIA have postponed their tour of Pakistan following a bombing in the country which reportedly killed 20 people in Lahore today. No date has yet been set for a rearranged tour to take place.

Australia were set to play two Tests and five one-day matches from March 29 onwards.
