BREWING giant Carlsberg has moved to reassure investors that it is "not in the least worried" about its ability to finance its takeover of Scottish & Newcastle.
The Danish firm teamed up with Dutch partner Heineken to offer £7.8 billion for the Edinburgh brewer.

The credit crunch had led to fears that the consortium would have difficulty coming up with the funds.

It is to issue £3.5 billion of equity to finance the deal in the autumn and has arranged to borrow from BNP Paribas, Danske Bank, Lehman Brothers and Nordea.
