THE brother of an Edinburgh man killed by a drunk driver is running more than 350 miles to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence.
Father-of-four Shaun Henderson, 43, died in Stevenage on January 3 last year when van driver Daniel Ellis, 28, who had been drinking, ran into him, knocking him off his scooter.
Ellis admitting causing Mr Henderson's death and was jailed for two years, with Mr Henderson's family branding that decision "a disgrace".
Now Robert Henderson, 47, is running the distance of a marathon each day as he travels from Edinburgh to Stevenage in a bid to raise £5500 for the campaign against drink driving.
A week into the challenge, he also hopes his run will highlight the damage that can be caused by drink driving.
He said: "I cry every day on the road because I'm still grieving for Shaun. His children were cheated out of a loving father and I'll do all I can to stop that happening to other families.
"I wanted to do this in memory of Shaun. Too many people lose loved ones because of drink drivers."
