Get guidance on dogs at Lothian centre

GUIDE Dog Week celebrations are to be held in Livingston to make people more aware of the vital work the dogs do.
Staff and volunteers from the South of Scotland district Guide Dogs team will be handing out "Sighted Guiding" DVDs and leaflets at the Livingston Designer Outlet shopping centre on Thursday.
And they will be highlighting potentially difficult situations such as a busy, cluttered high street, busy road junction, railway or bus station, where people with sight loss can need an extra helping hand to get around, even if they have a guide dog and use a cane.
Colin Gallagher, district team manager of Guide Dogs in South of Scotland, said: "We are looking forward to bringing our Guide Dog Week celebrations to Livingston to highlight to the public and service providers that in our increasingly busy and complex town environments, guide dog owners and long-cane users can need an extra helping to safely negotiate their way around."
