THE family of a woman who was involved in a road accident yesterday morning have paid tribute to a mystery good Samaritan who stopped to help her.
Joyce Coutts, 51, a domestic assistant from Easthouses, was driving along the High Street in Loanhead, Midlothian, when her car was in a collision with another vehicle. The woman, who was driving behind the two vehicles, immediately pulled over to assist.

Mrs Coutts' daughter, Lesley Coutts, said: "She was just travelling behind and she immediately stopped. She was just an angel. Seeing that happening must have been traumatic enough, but she went over and spoke to my mum and kept her calm and got my step-dad on the phone. There's not many people that would do that, especially at 6.30am in the morning."

The woman departed without Mrs Coutts discovering her identity.

Mrs Coutts was treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for minor injuries and released later in the day.
