BROUGHTON put their troubled start to the season behind them on Saturday with a seven-try win over Dalkeith at Wardie.
The Scottish Hydro Electric East League Division One side only had one win in the campaign prior to the weekend, but bounced back in spectacular fashion to see off the bottom side from Midlothian. Kiwi Daniel Bradbury grabbed two early tries in the
39-5 victory, before turning provider to set-up skipper Dan Arrandale to make it 15-0.

The score remained like that until the break, but in the second half Broughton added four more tries to see off Dalkeith. They came from Will Duncan, Duncan Nicolson, Neil McFarland and Andy Hutchison. Hutchison's try in particular was impressive, running 40 metres before dotting down.

The win puts Broughton seventh, and elsewhere in the division on Saturday a hard fought 18-0 win at Hallhill over Dunbar kept Penicuik in second place. They are still eight points behind Hawick Linden who beat Duns 44-7.

North Berwick lost 21-11 at Hawick Harlequins and are fourth, while Portobello are third after a 36-12 away win at Meggetland.

In Division Two, leaders Edinburgh Northern suffered a shock home defeat to Walkerburn, 5-15. Moray House were the only side from the Capital to win on Saturday, beating Leith 17-11.
