SCOTTISH Hydro Electric National League Division Three leaders Lasswade fought back in the second half to defeat Trinity Accies on Saturday and keep up their unbeaten run.

Trinity started the stronger in the wind and rain at Hawthornden and built up a 16-7 lead at half-time thanks to a converted try and three penalties. After the break the home side managed to pull it back to 16-14 thanks to a converted try from winger Neil Durie and three penalties from the trusty boot of centre Bernie Hennessey saw the Midlothian men home.

Lasswade president Ian Barr said: "The conditions were tough for both sides, but we made a few errors and Trinity played well. I am just grateful the team managed to get another victory."

Elsewhere in the same division Lismore lost 16-6 at Strathmore, but Ross High got a superb 28-5 away win at Grangemouth Stags.

In Division One Murrayfield Wanderers beat RHC Cougars 27-0 but Edinburgh University could not stop leaders Howe of Fife as they won 31-19 at Peffermill and Preston Lodge lost 6-3 to East Kilbride.

In Division Three Forrester were beaten 22-17 at home to Caithness and Linlithgow are third after a good 16-3 win over Glasgow Accies.
