Bankitner eyes RBS insurance
SPANISH company Bankinter has become the latest firm to enter the fight for the Royal Bank of Scotland's insurance arm.
The Madrid-based company has reportedly made a tentative approach to the RBS about buying out its motor insurance joint-venture partner, Linea Directa, which it values at £700 million.
Since announcing the sale, along with a £12 billion, rights issue, the insurance business, which includes Direct Line and Churchill, has become one of the most sought after assets on the market.
