THE leader of Scotland's Catholics was expected to make history today when he officially opened a new hotel built on church land.
Cardinal Keith O'Brien was set to unveil a plaque at the Holiday Inn Express, alongside St Patrick's Church on the Cowgate, at 1.15pm.

The hotel was built on land leased from St Patrick's to raise money for a £2 million overhaul of the church, including a new altar, organ and community centre.
