STEVEN DAVIS is desperate to make his second Rangers debut this weekend and exorcise the ghosts of Pittodrie.
The midfielder, who yesterday finally completed the formalities of his move from Fulham, is still haunted by his last Scottish Premier League game.

Tomorrow lunchtime sees Rangers return to the stadium where their SPL title bid was extinguished on the final day of last season. Aberdeen inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Walter Smith's men, with Celtic clinching a hat-trick of championships.

Davis, 23, said: "That was a big disappointment. We had a lot of games towards the end of the season – that probably took its toll. It was still a major disappointment in the position we found ourselves in to lose it in the end."

aye wot a lack of ambition from baloney when he knows and all the hundreds of celt*c fans know, he wont be anywhere near a starting berth.Chessers has his favourites, but Sean is about his 16 or 17th favourite, he may be on the bench quite alot, if not, will Chesney upset Scott "cant trap a ball" McDonald? I dont think so, he could play the "hes tired" line or he could be honest and just say, "Scotts not good enough, the reason he scored so many goals last year was because everyone was so poor!"

Anyway nuff bout the unwashed, i feel a bit silly after Walters signings in the last week or 2(i have been harsh on Wattie), but i still think we were right to ask, HOW/WHY did he pick that team in Kaunas? Why couldnt we score at Ibrox?? But well done Walter, Mendes will be phenomenal, Davis is a class act, Edu is Patrick Vieira with 2 feet! Dont really want to waste 4m on an Auzzie(Bresciano), i would rather sign David Healy to further more annoy our rivals and guarantee even more goals.

Rangers have a very strong squad, i think the old firm game next week will be a very good game.As usual McGready(1 trick pony) and Borat are their only threats, the rest can be nulified easily enough.

Get it right Walter.

its a wee change going to parkhead with mendes, davis, tommo and edu rather than adam, mcculloch, dailly and tommo!!We will pass them off the park! yeehaa

At least Davis won't need to settle in as a new player, which will help them, but I'd be surprised if Smith put in all the new players against a settled Celtic team and expected to win, as #2 suggests. I would expect a few stumbles from Rangers until their improved team beds in, although obviously I'd hope they stumble all season :)

I think the "lack of ambition" has rightly been fired more strongly towards the Rangers captain though, he had a chance to step up, Maloney never really managed to get there.

good players dont need to time to bed in, and barry didnt step down, he went from blackburn to rangers, anyone with common sense would see thats a step up!

smith has to put the new players in, we dont have anyone else, thats why weve been so poor up till and including parts of the Hearts game.

there is no space for stumbles

the juggernaught has started again with SDM at the controls.

Good to see your happy again mate,I feel the same way,allthough I have to say ,I thought signings where going to come late.

Being gazzumped for Brown and Macdonald in the past, and again for Loovens,has made the eight signings since last season even more appreciable for me.

Lafferty and Vellicka have both opened scoring accounts plus Bougherra and Mendes have both played well on their SPL debuts.Miller and Davis are old hands and shouldn`t take too long to get back into it,hope Kenny Miller scores soon,go on Kenny,shut them up!!!

Aaron Niguez Esclapes has already played in a closed doors friendly with Killie and played a nice passing game.

With the players we allready have,from a team that didn`t do too badly at all last season,we are serious contenders.
