SIR Evelyn Rothschild, the banking dynasty head, is believed to be considering selling off his stake in the Economist magazine to free up cash for charitable activities.
And it is thought that other family members, including Lord Jacob Rothschild's investment trust which has a five per cent stake and Sir Evelyn's French cousin, David Rothschild, might follow his lead.

Sir,

I hope he doesn't sell his interest -- the Economist is one of, if not the greatest magazine in the world. Let's hope he doesn't sell and that continues his support.
