EDUCATION Secretary Fiona Hyslop was today due to officially open Remploy's city centre recruitment branch, which helps people with disabilities into work.
She was to unveil a plaque at the premises in Earl Grey Street, Tollcross, which opened its doors earlier this year.

Ms Hyslop said: "We want to create a more successful Scotland where all our people have the opportunity to flourish."

Remploy said more than 22,000 people received incapacity benefit or severe disability allowance in the Edinburgh area and the new branch would help support hundreds of people with disabilities and health conditions into work.

The new branch is the latest in a network of facilities opening throughout the country which will play a part in Remploy's drive to support more than 20,000 disabled people into mainstream jobs nationally by 2012.
