AMERICAN coaching legend Scotty Bowman will be talking to youngsters attending the Edinburgh Capitals ice hockey school being held at Murrayfield Ice Rink next week.
Bowman is visiting Scotland to research his family tree.

In an NHL coaching career spanning 34 years, Bowman took his teams to 28 play-off appearances and won The Stanley Cup nine times. He also logged 1244 victories in his glittering career.

Bowman retired as a coach in 2002 but he continues to work for the Detroit Red Wings as a special consultant.

Scott Neil, general manager of Edinburgh Capitals said: "I am delighted Mr Bowman has taken the time to talk to our young aspiring hockey players.

"It is a great honour to have him visit us and we will be presenting him with a Capitals legacy shirt as a memento of his visit."

Bowman will arrive in a Cadillac BLS provided by Stratstone Cadillac, Corvette and Hummer.

Scotty Bowman an American? They can only wish.

He is among Canada's greatest hockey legends and minds. He was born in Montreal, Quebec.

I think it's great that the sport is getting more widely recognized in the UK. I hope one day soon we can see some future superstars in the league.
