CAPITAL climber Rachel Carr is looking forward to the European Youth Climbing Series at Ratho in September after triumphing in the British Youth Climbing final.
The Blackhall youngster beat 30 other competitors to take the title in the 11-13 Girls category at the Westway in London

She collected 468 out of a possible 480 points in the ten-hour competition featuring different routes and tests. Second place wen to Rachel's Quickdraw and Scotland South team-mate Eleanor Hopkins and third was Nikki Addison from Scotland North.

Royal High pupil Rachel, 13, trains at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena at Ratho and has been climbing competitively since 2008.

Her main target is to make the British Team for the 2010 World Championships, which will be held at Ratho.
