Pauline McLeod, 31, from Canonmills, is a motivational coach with Tres Bon Coaching.
What is your earliest memory of Edinburgh? We used to come to Edinburgh once a month when I was a part of the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) to RAF Turnhouse to learn to fly Chipmunk planes. If the weather was bad we would only know when we arrived so
once here we would head to Princes Street and wander about.

What are your memories of school? I went to Aberdeen Grammar School and most of my fondest memories were when I was in the CCF. I was their first and highest ranking female officer. I got to help fly planes and shoot semi-automatic guns. It was brilliant.

Where is your favourite place in Edinburgh and why? The Castle. I will have lived in Edinburgh for two years this summer and I still love the sight of the Castle. When you happen to walk down North Castle Street or come out of one of the shops on Princes Street it's just amazing.

What are the best things about Edinburgh? The Festival, the mix of people and the amount of amazing things that are on all year round.

What would you change about the city? The amount of roadworks and the fact that they seem to disappear during August and then come back just as quickly once the Festival is over.

Describe a perfect Edinburgh day/night out. I would spend most of the day wandering up and down the Royal Mile, have a long lunch, then head off to 99 Hanover Street for a wee drink or two then make my way to The Jazz Bar for the ultimate chilled out evening.

Which sports interest you? Ice hockey. I caught the bug when I lived in Canada and am so glad I can see live hockey with the Edinburgh Capitals here in the city.

What was your most embarrassing moment? Giving long and complex directions to tourists to where I thought they were wanting to go, only to turn around, once they had gone, to see the actual building they were looking for.

What is your greatest achievement? Starting up my own business and walking up part of the Rocky Mountains with flip flops on.

Sum up Edinburgh in three words. Historic, beautiful and engaging.
