Goodbye Fred the Shred, but we can't let you go without our online verdict. Likewise, city centre yobs cop a blast!
Fears RBS may not remain in Edinburgh after the Government's rescue were voiced online.

Gogarburn will be "luxury flats" by Christmas, and RBS will be the wrapper used by HSBC for its retail banking products in Scotland. Tunnocks,
Barr's and Golden Wonder are now the blue-chip investments.
Joe Smith

The demise of RBS is a catastrophe to Edinburgh and Scotland. The likes of Goodwin should leave with nothing.
Black Five

I don't think RBS are going anywhere and the next government (probably Conservative unless you think you know better) will re-privatise them. Expect the same nonsense again in 25 years' time. House prices to fall by 50 per cent according to the Dean of Harvard.
The Genuine Mario Antoinette

And as for Fred the Shred...

Never mind Fred – off to the Bahamas with you for cocktails on the beach. With a pension of more than £500K PER ANNUM!
Big T

Lots of Unionists conveniently forget that it was Alex Salmond who, a week past Wednesday, told Gordon Brown to do what he's now done. Speak about dithering! The RBS could have been fine if Brown and Darling had acted quicker and even HBoS could perhaps have stayed afloat.

Onliners have a few radical solutions to fix a gang terrorising Princes Street...

Princes St is well and truly down the pan. And the council wonder why the footfall count is down!
allknowing

You know what, maybe we should send them on an all-expenses-paid trip somewhere exotic to allow them to reconnect with Edinburgh on their return.
Liz

Radical, Liz...eh, maybe not!

The police know the areas around the east end of Princes Street where these morons tend to congregate. However one never sees any police presence until after an incident has occurred.
Jam Tarts 1874

Too much is done for criminals in this country and that's what they are. Time to get rid of the PC brigade and return to common sense.
JT

Yobs like these have no concerns about going to court for they know that nothing will happen to them except an Asbo, and they wear their Asbos like a badge of honour. Unfortunately young yobs simply grow up to be adult yobs unless they can be brought into line at an early age and this is not going to happen in what is now a politically correct society that frowns upon punishing youngsters.
joppa jock

Arrest these rowdies. They do not deserve to be on the street terrorising people. And the only alienation they have is what they have sentenced themselves with.

Like I have said "MANY TIMES" get the police off their butts and on their "FEET" – they should be treating Princess Street the same way The NYPD treated w42 St back in 60s & 70s.
fmuldar

And as usual it's shoot the messenger time...

Well done EEN. By namechecking their pathetic "club" you've just vindicated their existence. This is just attention seeking and you're providing them with a perfect platform.
