Eve McConnell, 34, a waitress from Colinton lists her top five favourite winter scenes in the Capital.
Princes Street Glistening lights from festive displays in shop windows, the wheel at the Scott Monument and the twinkling decorations are simply magical for Christmas fans of all ages.

George Street The decorations on the street – particularly at The Dome – always put me in the festive mood.

Bruntsfield When it snows, the tenements look like scenes from picture postcards. I also love walking up to Morningside and seeing the illuminated cross from Morningside Parish Church, shining in the dark as though it is not attached to anything.

The Pentland Hills The view in the winter is great, particularly on a really crisp, cold day. It's even better if there is a coating of snow on them.

Jenners Christmas Tree The epitome of Christmas retail at its best – always a magnificent attraction.
