Apple's call splits industry

THE music industry seemed split today over copyright in downloadable music, as Warner Music rejected Apple boss Steve Jobs' call for copy protection software to be dumped from digital tracks.
But rival EMI is believed to have been holding talks with online retailers about the possibility of selling its entire music catalogue in MP3 format without copy protection.
