If you’re a fan of indie rock from the noughties, this one-off indie club night in Scotland’s capital could be for you.

A nostalgic indie club night is coming to Edinburgh’s Wee Red Bar for one night only, and lovers of The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and The Killers will want to be there.

Called ‘Is This It?’ - a reference to the Strokes album of the same name - the night will take place on Saturday 23 May 2020 (11pm to 3am), and will celebrate indie rock spanning from 2001 all the way through to 2010.

The event poster is a tongue in cheek parody of a once controversial Strokes album cover

Inspired by a similar event scheduled for London in April, Is This It? is designed to transport Edinburgh’s aging indie kid population back to their teens.

What kind of music can I expect?

The organisers say, “The DJs will have all bases covered, from The Kooks to The Klaxons. Whether you liked Kings of Leon before they got a haircut, were broken hearted when The Libertines split (the first time around), or discovered Arctic Monkeys on MySpace, this is the night out for you.”

There will be retro chart hits galore from The Enemy, Pigeon Detectives and The Fratellis. Plus, electronic enthusiasts can look forward to hearing the likes of MGMT, The Rapture and Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the dance floor.

Can I buy tickets?

Advanced tickets for the club night are on sale now, via Eventbrite. They cost £3 each, including booking fees.

You can buy tickets on the night for the slightly higher price of £5.
